Today let's talk about generating ideas for creatives

You know, creative is the most important lever you can pull when running ads. The decisive factor to improve footfall on website, leading to sales and revenue πŸ€‘

While there are no best practices to create creatives, there are research processes to help you come-up with better ideas

"A good creative, helps you convey your enthusiasm of the product to the audience"

So, I usually spend surfing most times, getting inside the motivations, desires, pains of the customer to be used

All the places I look for to understand audience are

Facebook groups (Nope, they aren't dead), Reddit, Quora, Blogs, Listicle, Facebook Ad library, Google Trends, Newsletters, Pinterest, Forums, Review section

How to apply - Actionable Tips

  1. To generate hook for your creatives, head to amazon review section of products similar to what you sell. Now filter 2 star and 2 star reviews. Note the customer complaints. Use this as your hook to create scroll-stopping creatives
    ​Hat Tip: You can replicate this process on your competitors website
  2. Make special note of the language, words and vocabulory used, words that are repeated often. Use these words in your creative text and in copy. This will create a subsconscious relevance in your audience's mind and helps you grab attention with creatives
  3. In your research process, take note of the background where your product is being used, now even in your ad creative use similar background.
